Energy Efficient House Plans

The first step to an energy efficient house plan; be it custom or stock plan is to perform a site orientation for solar and wind; sheltering the design from the extreme northern winter winds and the hot west sun in the summer. Using double insulated glass and adequate thickness of insulation with a high R factor in the exterior walls and ceilings is also important. All of the designs on our site can be energy efficient with proper application applied.
